| Consider Resolution Commending John Stokes for Nine Years of Dedicated Service to the Shasta County Regional Transportation Planning Agency | 02/27/01 | 4 | |
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Agency adopt Resolution No. 01-02, commending John Stokes for nine years of dedicated service to the Shasta County Regional Transportation Planning Agency (RTPA).
SUMMARY
John Stokes ended his career with the Shasta County RTPA on February 16, 2001, and started work with the Shasta County Department of Resource Management. He has been a valuable employee for the RTPA since he started in 1992.
DISCUSSION
John Stokes started working for the RTPA in 1992. He administered several programs during his tenure including the Congestion Management Program, the Federal Transportation Improvement Program (FTIP), the State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP), the Regional Transportation Improvement Program (RTIP) and the Governor's Transportation Improvement Program (GTIP). He also has served as lead staff in the creation of the Regional Transportation Plan (RTP), as well as the programs which have shifted funding decisions from the State level to the RTPA level as result of Senate Bill 45. John was instrumental in gaining consensus on the distribution of STIP funds for local agencies and the development of the methodology to prioritize STIP funding.
John's expertise and attention to detail will be sorely missed by the Agency. It is recommended that the Agency present John with a resolution commending his nine years of service.
