RESOLUTION NO. 01-02
COMMENDING JOHN STOKES FOR NINE YEARS
OF DEDICATED, VALUABLE SERVICE
TO SHASTA COUNTY RTPA
WHEREAS, John Stokes began working for the Shasta County Regional Transportation Planning Agency (RTPA) as a transportation planner in 1992;
WHEREAS, John administered several programs during his tenure with the RTPA including the Congestion Management Program, the Federal Transportation Improvement Program, the State Transportation Improvement Program, the Regional Transportation Improvement Program and the Governor's Transportation Improvement Program;
WHEREAS, John administered the Public Involvement Program which included the creation of the Regional Transportation Plan Working Group, as well as programs that had a significant effect on the shifting of funding decisions from the State level to the RTPA level as result of Senate Bill 45.
WHEREAS, John was instrumental in gaining consensus on the distribution of STIP funds for local agencies and the development of the methodology to prioritize STIP funding through the Regional Transportation Plan.
WHEREAS, John was a key employee for the RTPA during his tenure.
WHEREAS, John ended his employment with the Shasta County RTPA on February 16, 2001;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Shasta County Regional Transportation Planning Agency hereby commends John Stokes for his excellent service to the RTPA and the citizens of Shasta County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Shasta County Regional Transportation Planning Agency extends to John Stokes its best wishes, success and happiness in his new career at the Shasta County Department of Resource Management.
DULY PASSED AND ADOPTED this 27th day of February 2001, by the Shasta County Regional Transportation Planning Agency.
