RESOLUTION NO. 03-01

 

ADOPTING THE SHASTA COUNTY PUBLIC INVOLVEMENT PROCEDURES

FOR TRANSPORTATION PLANNING

 

 

WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Transportation regulations [23 CFR 450.316 (b) (1) and 450.212] that guide the implementation of the TEA 21, require the adoption by each Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) of public involvement procedures for transportation planning; and

 

WHEREAS, the Shasta County Regional Transportation Planning Agency is the designated Metropolitan Planning Organization for Shasta County and is responsible for carrying out the transportation planning process in Shasta County; and

 

WHEREAS, the Public Involvement Procedures for Transportation Planning have been made available for public review for the required 45 days; and

 

WHEREAS, the Agency has considered all relevant information, including the factors set forth in the Federal regulations that guide the implementation of the TEA 21, and all relevant oral and written comments which have been submitted in a timely fashion; and

 

WHEREAS, all interested agencies, organizations and persons have been given opportunity to be heard with respect to any matters relating to the proposed Public Involvement Procedures for Transportation Planning; and

 

WHEREAS, the proposed Public Involvement Procedures for Transportation Planning meets or exceeds the requirements of the Federal and State regulations governing transportation planning procedures.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Shasta County Public Involvement Procedures for Transportation Planning are hereby approved and adopted.

 

DULY PASSED AND ADOPTED this 22nd day of April, 2003, by the Shasta County Regional Transportation Planning Agency.
