FROM Sue Crowe,
Accountant Auditor II
SUBJECT 2002 Population
Estimate
The
RTPA population estimate for the cities, unincorporated area and the RABA
service area within Shasta County is based on the 2002 California Department of
Finance E-1 population estimate. An
estimate of the population served by rural transit is also included for
calculating the FTA Section 5311 funding allocation based on 2000 census
data. Where an area does not directly
correspond to the area reported in the E-1 report, the rate of change from a
comparable area listed in the E-1 is used to adjust the 2000 U.S. Census estimate.
