SUMMARY

The Redding Area Bus Authority (RABA) has applied for a transit planning grant to explore the feasibility of further expanding the Downtown Transit Center (intermodal facility). Part of the grant application process is to submit letters of support from other stakeholders.

DISCUSSION

Caltrans has available funds for planning grants associated with transit facilities. RABA is in the process of exploring the feasibility of further developing the Downtown Transit Center located on Yuba Street. This request was received by RTPA at the Technical Advisory Committee meeting on November 27, with a required deadline of November 30. Given this short time frame, it was not feasible to present this to the Agency for their approval.

The purpose of this item is to advise the Agency that the attached letter of support was sent to RABA in support of their project.
